SQ2WTF - Space Quest 2 with a twist

Sierra AGI games had a limited vocabulary for their command parser, but they allowed some synonyms from their word list, including some common misspellings. They also tended to just carry the list of synonyms from one game to another, so there are references in there to other games. I decided to abuse that system to get through the game with some of the weirdest commands I could find.

Review: Inspector Waffles

It's been years since I've reviewed a point and click adventure game, but the official release of Inspector Waffles on several platforms, including on Steam and on GOG today warrants one. I've been following the game over the past 3 years or so and was extremely happy to have the opportunity to help out by beta testing as well as contributing some pixel art. So what is this game about?

It's Flot

This year, I participated in the $104 Adventure Game Challenge to create a graphical adventure game from scratch in 14 days. The theme of the jam was "A Delusion", meaning that the protagonist must be operating on a false belief, although the player must know that that belief is false. There's been some great entries again and I think everybody can be proud of what they've done. Some of the games are very short and can be completed in 2 minutes, others are astonishingly huge and sprawling full-length games that could take hours to puzzle your way to the end without a walkthrough. Here, shamelessly catering to my own tastes in adventure gaming, are my own favourites, in alphabetical order:

Spy Quest 2 - Operation: BOGROLL

A new year, a new Adventure Jam. Adventure Jam 2020 ran from 21 April to 5 May, during which the participants have to make an adventure game from scratch in 14 days. It was announced with very short notice, so there was almost no time to come up with a concept or do some design and planning ahead of the actual creation of the game. Unlike other years, this year there was a suggested (not mandatory) theme. Although the immediate themes didn't inspire me, they were all related to the pandemic that's going on, so I decided I would poke fun at that, specifically at the hoarding of toilet paper in my entry "Spy Quest 2 - Operation: BOGROLL".
